Today's Rant....

Let's all give a slow, standing ovation for the bravest heroes of the modern internet: The digital purity police. The keyboard crusaders who proudly defend the sanctity of human creation by dropping "AI slop" into the comment section of a local bakery. Bravo. What a courageous, rebellious stand against the machine.

Do these people have any idea how hard it is to keep a small business breathing in a seasonal shore town? You get a microscopic window of a few months to make enough cash to survive a dead winter. You are battling astronomical food costs, insane overhead, and no staff. You are sweating blood.

So yeah, when Easter weekend rolls around and the owner needs to promote a special, they use a free AI tool to make a graphic of a bunny holding a pancake. Why? Because they don't have three grand to hire a boutique ad agency that serves artisanal water and takes six weeks to pick a font. AI is a free tool for a small business owner. If they weren't using every single tool available to them to survive, they would be terrible at business.
There is a massive difference between a billion-dollar movie studio firing union artists to replace them with a prompt generator, or Amazon having mass layoffs because of an algorithm. That is greed. That is wrong. But a local deli using ChatGPT to write a Facebook post or Gemini to make a flyer? That's a working stiff hustling to keep the lights on.

But the trolls don't care about nuance. "AI slop" is just the new virtue signaling. And the hypocrisy is staggering. These miserable people are typing their little rebellious comments on laptops they bought on Amazon Prime... while sipping a Venti whatever from Starbucks... while scrolling Meta... a platform literally built on and sustained by artificial intelligence. They probably use AI every single day, both on purpose and without even knowing it. They'll gladly hand their entire paycheck to corporate monopolies that actually harm small businesses, but the minute they put their keyboard warrior hats on, they attack a mom-and-pop shop to practice their social superiority.

And please don't give me the environmental excuse. Yes, AI server farms consume a ton of power and water. That is a highly valid argument. But let's be real...That's not why these trolls are in the comments. They don't give a shit about the power grid. They just want to feel socially and intellectually superior...Selfish assholes who look at a modern tool and somehow see something being taken away from them, instead of seeing a hustling owner just trying to survive.

People who go out of their way to leave bad reviews and ruin the reputation of a small business... even a bad small business... are about the most horrible humans on earth...Miserable, jealous hypocrites and, worst of all, cowards. Not a single one of these virtue-signaling trolls would have the balls to walk into a pizza place, look an exhausted owner in the eye, and say half of this shit to their face.

Go find a real villain to fight. Leave the guy selling sandwiches alone.
