The Asbury Casino, located on the boardwalk of Asbury Park, New Jersey, was a grand entertainment complex built in the early 20th century. It featured a variety of attractions, including an arcade filled with games and amusements, thrilling rides that delighted visitors of all ages, and a beautifully ornate carousel that became a beloved icon of the park. The casino was a hub of activity and excitement, drawing tourists and locals alike to enjoy its offerings and the vibrant atmosphere of the boardwalk.
Over time, the Asbury Casino and its attractions fell into decline, and many of the original structures were left abandoned. Despite this, the carousel, known as Carousel #87 from the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, continued to operate until 1990 before being moved to Family Kingdom Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Today, the remnants of the casino and its attractions serve as reminders of Asbury Park's storied past, with efforts underway to preserve and honor its history.
