Ichabod's Bar & Grill, which proudly billed itself as "A little bit of California on Ocean Avenue," was an iconic two-level fixture at the corner of Ocean Avenue and East Church Street in Sea Bright, opening in February 1979. Owned by entrepreneur Stephen Grulich, who also operated the nearby Tradewinds Nightclub, Ichabod's became a beloved part of the Jersey Shore nightlife for decades. The establishment eventually closed its doors and was succeeded by Woody's Ocean Grille in the late summer of 2011, marking the end of an era.
