The Upstage Club, located at 700 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey, was a legendary music venue that opened in 1968 and closed its doors in 1971. It was a non-alcoholic coffeehouse and after-hours club where young, aspiring musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny Lyon, and Steven Van Zandt honed their live performance skills through endless all-night jam sessions.
