Before condos took over, this was the spot. Established in 1932 on the grounds of Lifesaving Station No. 5, the Takanassee Beach Club was five acres of pure Jersey Shore summer—cabana life, lifeguard legends, a private lake, and decades of local memories. Family-run for generations, “Tak” was where Long Branch grew up. Gone now, but not forgotten.
