The memory

In the early 1980s, Big Man's West stood as a beacon of rock 'n' roll on Monmouth Street in Red Bank. Owned by the legendary Clarence "Big Man" Clemons of the E Street Band, this intimate venue became a crucible for musical legends and local talent alike. Over its brief 18-month existence, it hosted electrifying performances from icons such as Bruce Springsteen, who graced the stage at least 18 times, Joan Jett, Bon Jovi, and Bonnie Raitt.

Fabric and print

Though the club closed its doors in 1983, its legacy endured. In 1984, Springsteen and the E Street Band returned to the now-defunct venue to rehearse for the "Born in the U.S.A." tour. The building was eventually demolished in 2023, making way for new developments, but the spirit of Big Man's West lives on in the hearts of those who experienced its magic.

This coaster is a tribute to a bygone era of raw, unfiltered rock energy and the community that made it unforgettable.

Underneath, it's hardboard MDF backed with real cork, topped with a high-gloss coating that shrugs off condensation rings and a hot mug alike. Squared off at 3.74 inches a side, it's waterproof and heat-resistant — built to actually protect the table, not just sit on it.
