Greetings from Middletown

Calico has towered over Route 35 since 1956 — the original mascot for the Food Circus supermarket chain, designed by Leslie Worth Thomas, the same artist behind Tillie. With an eerie grin and a blood-red fingertip, the 22-foot rotating clown earned the nickname 'Evil Clown of Middletown' and has outlasted the store, the gentrification, and every wrecking ball aimed his way.

Fabric and print

Fabric: Cotton
Care: Machine washable

The graphic keeps that grin front and center rather than smoothing it over for merchandise. If you've driven past him on 35, you already know exactly why.

A 3-panel hood, matching flat drawstrings, a blank sourced from Pakistan. The body runs 65% cotton, 35% polyester under a 100% cotton face, with a front pouch pocket and a self-fabric patch on the back, built heavier than it looks.

The graphic is printed direct to garment, one shirt at a time, after you order it.

Shipping and returns

Printed to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Your shirt is printed after you buy it and ships directly from the print facility, not from the Jersey Shore. Expect a few days of production before it ships, then normal transit time. Shipping is calculated at checkout, and it is free on any 3 tees or any order over $99.
