On August 16, 1969, Led Zeppelin performed at Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ, just as the Woodstock Festival was taking place nearby. The setlist included iconic tracks like "Train Kept A-Rollin'," "Dazed and Confused," "White Summer/Black Mountain Side," and "How Many More Times," showcasing the band's blues-infused hard rock sound. The concert was part of their North American Summer Tour and featured two shows that day, with Joe Cocker and his Grease Band as the opening act.

Led Zeppelin's decision to play in Asbury Park instead of Woodstock was influenced by their manager, Peter Grant, who believed that participating in Woodstock would typecast the band as just another act in a large festival lineup. Grant wanted to maintain Led Zeppelin's distinct identity and avoid being overshadowed by the festival's other performers. This choice allowed the band to deliver a memorable performance in Asbury Park and continue their rise to superstardom.\
