The memory

Captain's Garter, located on Route 35 in Neptune, NJ, was a vibrant rock venue that opened in May 1969. It quickly became a popular spot for live music, hosting numerous local bands and emerging artists, including Bruce Springsteen. The venue was known for its lively atmosphere and significant role in the local music scene during the early 1970s. Springsteen performed multiple times at Captain's Garter in January 1972, including a memorable event on January 28, where The Bruce Springsteen Band opened for Powers Flower, a local troupe performing an adaptation of "Jesus Christ Superstar." Despite being the opening act, Springsteen's band closed the show, highlighting his rising popularity. Another significant performance took place on January 23, 1972, where The Sundance Blues Band, featuring Southside Johnny, Steven Van Zandt, and other future E Street Band members, played a triple bill with Inferno and Ruby Falls & The Rock City Band. Springsteen guested on guitar and vocals, marking one of the last performances of The Sundance Blues Band.

Unfortunately, Captain's Garter met an untimely end when it burned down on March 13, 1974. It was replaced by The Headliner Night Club in May 1974, which continued the tradition of live music and entertainment in the area. The legacy of Captain's Garter lives on through the memories of those who experienced its vibrant music scene and the early performances of now-famous artists. These early gigs at Captain's Garter were crucial in shaping Springsteen's career and the local music scene, making it a significant landmark in the history of rock music in New Jersey.

The hoodie itself is a 100% cotton face over a 65% cotton, 35% polyester body, with a self-fabric patch on the back and a front pouch pocket up front. The hood runs 3 panels with matching flat drawstrings, and the blank ships from Pakistan.
