Established in 1954, the Circus Drive-In was a beloved fast-food restaurant in Wall Township, New Jersey, known for its distinctive round structure and iconic clown sign that beckoned travelers along Route 35. For over six decades, it served up classic American fare, including hamburgers, french fries, and milkshakes, becoming a staple for generations of Jersey Shore visitors.

Details

Despite efforts to preserve this nostalgic landmark, the Circus Drive-In closed its doors in 2017 and was demolished in 2018. However, the cherished clown sign was saved and remains a symbol of the community's rich history.

It's hardboard MDF with a cork backing and a high-gloss coated face, 3.74 inches on each side. Waterproof and heat-resistant, it'll take a milkshake sweating in summer heat or a hot cup of coffee without flinching.

What happened to the Circus Drive-In in Wall?

The Circus Drive-In opened in 1954 under its neon clown. It closed for good in 2017 after the property was sold. The building was torn down in May 2018 and retail took its place. The clown sign survived, and Wall Township has kept it in storage since 2021.
