The memory

Villa Penza was a beloved Italian restaurant and bar that operated at 238 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park from its founding in 1923. Owned and run by Gavino Vecchione & Sons, it became a fixture in the city’s theater district, just a block from the boardwalk. Known for its authentic Italian-American cuisine, fine wines, and lively atmosphere, the restaurant offered an upscale yet welcoming dining experience. With its air-conditioned dining room and year-round service, Villa Penza was a local landmark for decades, drawing families and visitors alike throughout the 1920s through at least the 1970s. This shirt celebrates its enduring place in Asbury Park’s culinary history.

The make: ring-spun cotton, 153 g/m², double-stitched neckline and sleeves, tape across the shoulders, quarter-turned against a centre crease. Heather shades are roughly two-thirds polyester; Sport Grey only a tenth.
