The memory

The building behind The Stone Pony on 2nd Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ, has a storied past that reflects the vibrant culture of the area. Originally known as the Empire Bar in the early 1970s, it became a haven for musicians, bikers, and locals alike. With its affordable drinks, sandwiches, and a lively atmosphere, it attracted notable figures like Bruce Springsteen and members of the E Street Band. The Empire Bar was a place where music and camaraderie thrived, offering a unique blend of characters and energy. In the late 1970s, the bar underwent a transformation and was renamed the Quack Quack Bar, continuing its legacy as a lively gathering spot.

After the Quack Quack Bar closed, the building later became known as the Stone Pony Annex, further cementing its place in Asbury Park's rich musical history. Each iteration of the establishment contributed to the cultural fabric of the area, serving as a backdrop for countless memories and stories.

It's 4.2 oz, 100% combed and ring-spun cotton, pre-shrunk, side-seamed, taped shoulder to shoulder (heathers carry some polyester). Soft, a little stretchy, fitted but not tight — printed to order, one shirt at a time, the same modest scale as the bar that once stood there.

The graphic is printed direct to garment, one at a time, after you order it.

Made to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Your t-shirt is made after you buy it and ships directly from the print facility, not from the Jersey Shore. Most orders ship within 3 business days, then normal transit time. Shipping is calculated at checkout, and it is free on any 3 tees or any order over $99.
