Shore Umbrella Co. is a family business that now goes back three generations. Currently operated by Michael Brown, Shore Umbrella was founded by Michael's father Albert Brown (better know to most locals as Max), his grandmother, Margaret Camoosa, and his aunt and uncle Adelaide and Henry Musto. Their first successful bid for the umbrella concession on the Asbury Park beaches was the Summer of 1961. Michael Brown, along with his cousins James MacDonald, and Jim and Ken Russel, joined the family business as Asbury Park High School students.

Over next 57 years, they expanded the umbrella business to the Bradley Beach, Ocean Grove and Deal beaches....and continue to operate on Jersey Shore beaches to this day.

Shore Umbrella Co. is one of the few family owned businesses, started during Asbury Park's glory days, that still exist today!
