The memory

The Fast Lane wasn't just a club—it was a proving ground for rock legends and misfits alike. A converted garage on Fourth Avenue, this gritty Asbury Park haunt hosted early gigs from Jon Bon Jovi, U2, Patti Smith, and even Bruce Springsteen, who played there at least ten times. It was the kind of place where you could catch a future icon playing to a half-empty room, and by the next year, they were headlining stadiums.
